OOTD: All Blue Everything

If you read my 'August Favourites' post, you will know that I have been loving the denim trend recently and it is definitely a trend I shall be wearing long into the Autumn/Winter season. However, in that very same post, I also mentioned how I had yet to find the confidence to try out the double denim trend. Well, ladies and gentleman, that has now changed...

I think that the most important thing to keep in mind when putting your 'double denim' outfit together, is the colour of the denim. Personally, I wouldn't ever wear the same colour of denim together. Although, I also wouldn't ever wear the same pattern on more than one item of clothing in the same outfit, but some people do and they look amazing in it! So, as with every fashion choice, make sure it your decision and reflects your own personal style. For this outfit, I went with two varying tones of blue denim, one dark and one a lot lighter. The jeans are my staple, everyday pair, which are Joni jeans from Topshop. I paired these with a light, denim style shirt, also from Topshop. The shirt isn't actually denim at all, but it looks similar enough, so I think it passes. Wearing a non-denim, or at least very light denim pieces, is both a great choice for summer, as it will help keep you cool, but also a great choice for the colder weather, as you can layer on warmer clothes when outside, but then have a lighter base outfit underneath. 

I wore this outfit with a pair of cream, fabric oxfords (not pictured, those are actually my slippers!). I then added a collection of gold jewelry, including; a Fossil watch, Forever 21 rings and a Forever 21 necklace. I felt that because the shirt had a collar, it looked better with a high ponytail, which also bought attention to my necklace. My makeup was relatively basic, although I did add a swipe of MACs 'Media' lipstick, as I felt that the outfit needed a pop of colour.
